How powerful is it to say "I don't know"?
WHY PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SOMETIMES MEANS NOT PLANNING ANYMORE, BUT LETTING IT COME.
This sentence has accompanied me for many years and still does today. Is that bad? No, it is liberating.
Previously, I used to plan almost everything in advance, there was a (short-term and long-term) schedule. Everything was (supposedly) "safe", until it happened as the proverb says: "Man plans, fate laughs" or "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans."
So, I (forcedly) stopped planning everything. Many things had to develop anew anyway. It was time to really get to know myself and find out that I cope much better without extensive planning and allow myself to go with the flow of life. This led to opportunities that I probably could have never planned.
Of course, some things need to be organized, but many don't. And you shouldn't try to control those things. Let them develop, no matter in what area.
What am I doing this weekend? "I don't know." Where is my life journey going? "I don't know." And honestly, no one can really know. So, let go of it.
"Have you already planned everything for the next ten years?" I am often asked this question, and it seems as if each of us must constantly have a precise plan for our lives. But what if we simply don't know? What if we have no idea where the path of life will lead us?
In our society, the urge for planning and control is often preached. It is expected that we have carefully thought through and planned our education, career, relationships, and all other aspects of our lives. We are supposed to create the perfect schedule and shape everything according to our desires. But what happens when the plan doesn't work out or when we develop in a direction we didn't expect? This can lead to frustration, confusion, and self-doubt.
Instead of focusing too much on the future, we should learn to live in the moment and concentrate on present possibilities. By allowing life to come to us, we can unfold freely and have new experiences. Often, the best opportunities and possibilities arise when we are open and flexible and don't cling to a rigid plan.
By not clinging too tightly to plans, we can also benefit from unexpected experiences. Perhaps an unexpected career opportunity arises or we meet someone who completely changes our lives. These unforeseen events can give us new perspectives and lead us down paths we never anticipated. By being open to the unknown, we can personally develop and experience positive changes in our lives.
By allowing things to come to us and loosening our plans, we have the opportunity to get to know ourselves better. We can find out what is truly important to us and what fulfills us. By allowing ourselves to develop in different directions, we can discover our strengths, interests, and passions. We can test our own limits and see personal growth.
Life is constantly changing, and sometimes it is better not to plan too precisely and let things come as they may. By allowing ourselves to develop flexibly and be guided by unexpected experiences, we can grow personally and discover new paths. This may be scary at first, but the rewards that come from it are worthwhile.
So, let's explore the unknown together and let life come to us. Because sometimes, we simply don't know - and that's okay.
