Find joy in the small things
And recognize the messages
During times that were hard for me, and even now as I walk a lot to process everything, I make a conscious effort to perceive my surroundings. I find joy in the little things, there is so much to discover - the array of colors, variety of plants, and multitude of animals. By doing this, I bring myself back into the present moment and allow my thoughts to become quiet, almost like a meditation in nature.
If something repeatedly crosses my path, I interpret it as a sign. During difficult times, I have encountered butterflies frequently. I remember a walk in the forest in the fall when a butterfly suddenly flew by. It was exactly the message I needed to be reminded of that day: Butterflies are, among other things, a reminder of lightness.
Even little things like when a ladybug landed on me and accompanied me for a short while gave me joy and allowed me to forget my "worries" in that moment.
Animals that have often accompanied me included: crow, hedgehogs, foxes, bees, dragonflies
The messages that these animals represent helped me back then and gave me a feeling that everything has its meaning.
You may believe in what gives you strength. Take a look at who crosses your path and what meaning it could have for you. Use it as in inspiration.
